Murray Foster is a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with two platinum and five gold records to his credit. Best known for his work in the bands Great Big Sea and Moxy Fruvous, Murray’s song “Lay Me Down” (recorded by the Newfoundland duo Fortunate Ones) spent two weeks at #1 on the CBC Radio 2 Top 20 Countdown in 2015. He established Toronto Songwriting School in 2014 to give songwriters of all levels a place to develop their craft and organized the first Songwriter Getaway in November 2014. In addition to his own songwriting and performing, Murray is also a Professor of Songwriting at Seneca College’s Independent Performing Songwriter program.
